The Prayer Circle is ecumenical and is made up of 20 members who all share the strong belief in the Power of Prayer! They receive prayer requests from some of the Sea Trail residents, and these are passed on through a phone chain to each member, who will offer up daily prayers, each according to their individual faith.
The Prayer Circle meets monthly and updates their list. It is hoped the person making the request will inform the circle of any changes brought about by prayers, such as problems overcome, a surgery and healing or a sense of peace restored. Then a prayer of thanksgiving can be given at the next meeting. Each request is treated with confidentiality.
The Chapel on the Green was founded by the Prayer Circle, and is open from 8 to 5 each day. It is a place to pray, meditate or simply find a sense of peace in times of stress. Also, it is available to Sea Trail residents for small weddings and memorials, and is maintained daily by the Prayer Circle.
The Chapel on the Green has a Memorial Garden. Names of deceased Sea Trail resident's are etched on bricks and these bricks form a walkway through a lovely garden. The Prayer Circle provides the bricks for a small engraving fee. If interested contact Marge Gallop for an application. Marge also keeps a supply of the Chapel on the Green notepaper for sale, and any member of the Circle will be happy to take your order at $5 for a box of 10 notes. This is the only fund-raiser used by the Prayer Circle.
There are pamphlets kept in the Chapel giving the history of both the Prayer Circle and the founding of the Chapel. These are free and available to the public.
