Many doctors are recommending Yoga to prevent and help with various health issues. Some of these include: joint and back pain, anxiety and stress disorders and increasing flexibility strength for a better golf swing.
If you are interested in taking Yoga and experiencing the benefits it can provide, there are two classes being offered. Both of them are held at the VAC (Visitors Activity Center) on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. A Vinyasa flow class is from 9:30 - 10:30 and is most suited for those with some yoga experience. Your experience can be very limited. Having taken any yoga class and being familiar with basic yoga moves is all that is need. A Gentle/Beginner Class is from 10:45 - 11:45. During this class movements are slow and lots of instruction is given on alignment and breathing. This class offers a great introduction to yoga for those who have always wanted to begin their practice but may been afraid to try it.
Please bring a mat. The cost is $8 per class.
