2010 Membership Letter
December 2, 2009
Dear Members & Property Owners,
I hope your 2009 year was a good one on the golf courses. We in the Golf Department are looking forward to a great 2010 golf season.
The the BIG NEWS for 2009 was the Byrd greens were ALL completed and they are as close to the original shape as we can make them. We have hard nothing but complimcnet on the course conditions and hope that everyone is as pleased as we are. The overseed went well with the weather cooperating. We received the rain that was needed and the temperatures wer agreeable. This year will be similar to last year with a sculpture look that everyone seemed to enjoy. the great results are attributalbe to an exceptional job well done by Matt Owens the Golf Course Maintenance Department.
The 2009 golf season included some fun outings. the Staff-Members Tournaments went very well and the Summertime cook-outs hosted by the Golf Department were well attended. Th 2010 we will mix the golf tournament and cool-out together for some extra fun. Watch for these events, which will be posted in the Sea Trailer and in the Golf Shop.
The dues for the Membership options for 2010 went up slightly over the 2009 rates. The payment structure is outlined in the attached letter. Also for 2010, the Handicap Fee for Lady Members who wish to have an established handicap will be $20.00 (exception: STLGA). This fee will be due January 15, and can be paid for in the Golf Shops. The advantage of having an established handicap is for playing in any tournaments that require an official handicap. For example: any club events or invited club tournament, Carolinas Gof Association (CGA) events, or any PGA events such as Pro/Am's here or away.
For those of you who have not had the opportunity to meet the Golf Shop Staff, here is a little introduction:
Eddie Pratt is the Director of Golf. Eddie oversees the Golf Shops' daily operations. Angela Love is the Director of Golf Operations. Angela is in charge of the Golf Department personnel, staffing and training inside and outside personnel, as well as assisting Eddie.
The remaining Golf Shop Staff are Margie Hooks, TJ Johnson, Brent Houser, Rich Biancardi, John Barnett, John Apsega and Paul St. Pierre. I am very honored to be working with such a great group of people, and we all are here to help each and every one of you.
The Golf Department Staff would like to wish you a safe and enjoyable Holiday Season and we look forward to seeing you in the upcoming 2010 golf season.
Sincerely,
Tom Plankers
